Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have video messages or live teaching?

We have live teaching.

All campuses of Grace Church of Greater Akron have their own pastor who teaches his own messages live to his congregation. In this way, we will have the intimacy of a smaller church and the benefits of a larger church.

Do you have children programs?

Yes! One of our core values is that we are fully committed to kids. We unapologetically devote major resources and energy towards shaping a God-centered world view during a person’s prime developmental years.

We have an excellent dedicated children’s ministry called POWER Kids. We provide a strong biblical foundation for kids and support and connection for parents. We partner with parents!

For us, the children’s ministry is not about adding another program; it is a cornerstone of what God calls the church to do. We are committed to change for our kids, to sacrifice, and to do whatever is necessary to make Jesus clear and accessible to them.

What denomination is your church?

We are a non-denominational church, however we have oversight by a parent church and are connected to an association of churches. Our parent church is Grace Church of Greater Akron – one of the top 100 largest churches in the country with 8 campuses in 3 states.

Our association of churches is Charis Fellowship – a network of churches, campuses and ministries in the USA and Canada who are passionate about Jesus, His truth, His Relationship, and His Mission. And that mission is to start new churches, train leaders and do good for the sake of the gospel. Charis Fellowship is a proud member of the global Charis Alliance with 3000+ churches in more than 25 countries.

We believe that being a campus of Grace as well as belonging to Charis Fellowship gives us the support and accountability that helps build a healthy church, while also giving us the freedom to reach people in our local community the way God shows us.

You refer to Grace Church of Greater Akron as your “parent church”. What does that mean?

Grace will give regular, on-going training in all aspects of church, as well as financial support. The goal is for the new church to become a self-sustaining church, able to provide for ourselves and begin to plant other churches, much like a parent raises a child to be independent and to begin to start their own family.

Baptism

What is Baptism? In simple terms, being baptized is like putting on a wedding ring—it’s a response to a loved one and an outward symbol of internal commitment and truth. In the Bible, especially during Jesus’ life and right after that time, the pattern of baptism as a response to salvation is demonstrated. There is only one requirement—a personal decision to believe and accept the salvation of God through Jesus Christ (Acts 2:41, 8:12).
